Nigel Long
Founder/Senior Managing Director

Nigel Long is the founder and Senior Managing Director of Trade Street Advisors, LLC, an advisory-focused investment banking firm with associates in Charlotte, Washington DC, Chicago, and New York. Trade Street performs valuations of over $50 billion monthly of illiquid securities and derivatives, including valuations of hundreds of companies per year. Nigel oversees all aspects of the firm's development, operations, and strategic initiatives. He has over 25 years of experience advising on complex financial transactions involving debt and equity finance, investment, and analysis. He is a seasoned investment banker with expertise in strategic planning and execution, asset valuation, financial derivatives, and structuring of complex debt and equity transactions.

Nigel is a senior advisor to Fortune 500 companies and CEOs of some of the nation’s largest Minority Owned Businesses (MBEs), primarily African-American-, Hispanic- and Asian-owned. Nigel has served on the boards of directors of several private companies and civic organizations, including the operating committee of the Charlotte Community Capital Fund which he helped launch for the City of Charlotte. In 2018, he was appointed by North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper to serve on the Board of Trustees for the NC Supplemental Retirement Plan which is responsible for governing the NC 401(k)/457 Plans and the NC 403(b) Program valued at over $14.5 billion.

Nigel is also founder and President of The Dilworth Companies, Inc. (TDCI), a private investment firm founded in 2001 that has invested in or advised on nearly $1 billion worth of private equity and real estate transactions.

His investment banking career began at First Union Securities (now Wells Fargo Securities), where he was responsible for managing the structuring, pricing, underwriting and closing of commercial and multifamily real estate loans for inclusion in the group’s multi-billion dollar securitization program.

Nigel contributed to national studies and reports including, “The Minority Business Challenge: Democratizing Capital for Emerging Domestic Markets” (U.S. Dept. of Commerce Minority Business Development Agency/the Milken Institute), and the “Financial Innovations in Low Income Communities” project. He was an invited guest at The White House for urban policy briefings during the Presidential terms of both President George W. Bush, President Barack Obama, and President Donald Trump.

Leonard Mills, PhD
Quantitative Finance/Modeling

Leonard “Len” Mills is responsible for modeling and valuation of highly complex financial assets/derivatives, model testing and validation. He leads a team of senior finance professionals who manage and support Trade Street’s Securities/Illiquid Asset Valuation and Analytical Modeling practices and who each have up to 30 years of experience in quantitative analytics/modeling, trading, loan and securities pricing, econometrics, application of statistical methods and portfolio analysis. In addition, he is Founder and President of PI Analytics Investment Advisers (PI), a Maryland corporation and a Maryland Registered Investment Adviser with whom Trade Street maintains a consulting relationship. Pi Analytics advises high net worth individuals, private equity funds and other clients.

With more than 30 years’ experience in corporate leadership and support roles, Len also has academic experience teaching economics and finance at Johns Hopkins University, the University of Maryland, the University of Pennsylvania (Wharton), and Tulane University. Consulting assignments included work with MuniMae Financial and UBS Investment Bank.

He has authored or co-authored a number of articles and publications, and has extensive experience in development and use of models using a variety of software programs including SAS.

Arthur Hilliard
Market Intelligence/Research

Arthur “Art” Hilliard brings more than 29 years of mortgage industry experience to his role at Trade Street Advisors, LLC, where he oversees market intelligence, development of monthly market reports, and compilation of yields, forward rates, spreads, and relevant pricing data.

Art is also principal at A.J. Hilliard Company. He has worked with many institutions and investors, both public and private, managing asset sales and acquisitions. While director of Mortgage Advisory at CastleOak Securities, Art provided mortgage advisory services to public sector entities including securities and loan valuation, loan sale structuring, loss share due diligence, and receivership support services. As vice president of the Banking Group Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago, he provided liquidity and asset/liability management tools to member banks in Illinois. 

At Mortgage Partnership Finance (MPF) program, Art generated more than $100 billion in loan sales, managed marketing, sales and relationships, and directed development, implementation and execution of training programs. For Fannie Mae, Art managed customer relationships in Ohio and Indiana, working with clients who sold mortgages and securitized loan pools from their pipeline and portfolio; he also worked with institutions to manage and hedge their mortgage pipelines. Art helped create a Fannie Mae publication on pipeline tracking, hedging and related training. At Bank of America, Art was an assistant vice president in the Secondary Marketing Department, responsible for mortgage loan pricing, asset securitizations and settlements, mortgage pipeline tracking, and exposure reporting. A past president of the Illinois Mortgage Bankers Association, Art also served on their Risk Management Committee and chaired the Secondary Marketing/Capital Markets Committee.

Anitra Green
Compliance/Quality Control

Anitra Green is head of Compliance and Quality Control Services at Trade Street Advisors, LLC. She leads a team of professionals who each possess between 10 and 27 years of experience in real estate, insurance, audit, mortgage servicing and compliance. 

Anitra has diverse commercial mortgage servicing and insurance related experience and held a variety of leadership roles in which she wrote and implemented policies and procedures for training and team development. As an assistant vice president and insurance analyst for Bank of America’s CMBS Commercial Mortgage Servicing Group, her responsibilities included: providing training and policy oversight to the insurance group’s in-house new hires and offshore team; auditing commercial insurance policies and requirements on more than 600 commercial mortgage loans; and managing monthly reporting and compliance to Seller Servicers and Investors. 

Anitra also worked on the customer service and collections team, coordinating and strategically communicating with management, underwriting, asset management, and portfolio management. Prior to Bank of America, Anitra was a property and liability insurance adjustor for The Travelers Companies and an insurance agency producer and owner for Allstate Insurance.
